Saudi Arabia expresses support for Afghanistan

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Relations Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Saud Al-Kabeer led the Saudi delegation to a regional political dialogue meeting on Afghanistan in Abu Dhabi today. Delivering a speech to the gathering, Prince Turki highlighted the Kingdom’s continuous support for Afghanistan, which has included the provision of $475 million, in addition to in-kind assistance and technical and academic aid.
“The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been exerting great efforts to help and support the brotherly Afghan people and stand with them to overcome the difficulties they faced in the past years and has called, in this context, all spectrums of the Afghan people to dialogue, as the sole path towards resolving the many difficulties and challenges,” he stated. “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will continue to provide assistance and support to promote stability and development in Afghanistan.”
Prince Turki expressed the Kingdom’s desire to further develop economic and cultural cooperation with Afghanistan. Furthermore, he offered the support of the Saudi government for the efforts of the Supreme Commission for Peace in Afghanistan.
