Saudi-Algerian Joint Commission meets in Riyadh

The seventh session of the Saudi-Algerian Joint Commission concluded in Riyadh today. The meeting was co-chaired by Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Hashim Yamani and Algerian Finance Minister Karim Jodi.
The two countries agreed to boost bilateral trade exchange, facilitate visits by Saudi and Algerian businesspeople, and organize commercial exhibitions. A memorandum of cooperation was also signed between the national archives of both countries.
In addition, the Commission discussed projects and areas of cooperation, particularly in the areas of avoiding double taxation, shipping, Islamic affairs, endowments and the judiciary.
In 2006, the volume of trade between Saudi Arabia and Algeria totaled $95 million [SR 356 million].
