Cabinet: Lebanon, Palestinian situation

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh today.

King Abdullah briefed the Cabinet on his recent contacts and consultations with world leaders and their envoys, notably King Hamad of Bahrain and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

The Cabinet affirmed Saudi Arabia’s ongoing support for efforts to resolve the political crisis in Lebanon as well as its principled stance on the Palestinian issue.

On domestic issues, the Cabinet reviewed various government projects, and King Abdullah urged all government sectors to implement their projects efficiently and effectively. The Cabinet also reviewed this year’s Hajj and highlighted the importance placed by the Kingdom on serving pilgrims.

Also today, the Cabinet authorized the signing draft agreements with France on cooperation in the fields of education and energy.
