Oil Minister Ali Al-Naimi opened the International Oil Exhibition in Riyadh today. The exhibition is being held on the fringes of the Third Summit of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), which begins in Riyadh November 17.  

Arranged by the OPEC Summit Organizing Committee, the exhibition includes national oil companies of OPEC member nations and major international oil companies. It will run from November 13-16.

In a press conference today, Al-Naimi said that the summit’s agenda will focus on the provision of energy supplies, support for global prosperity and protecting the environment. The issue of oil prices will not be addressed, he said.

Al-Naimi reiterated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enhancing its production capacity to maintain global market stability. He also welcomed Canada’s entry into OPEC, if it wishes to do so.
