Saudi Ambassador to the US Prince Turki Al-Faisal attended a farewell reception on Capitol Hill last night. The event was attended by congressional representatives and staff.
Speakers at the event included Reps. Nick Rahall (D-West Virginia), Roscoe Bartlett (R-Maryland), Vernon Ehlers (R-Michigan), Jim Moran (D-Virginia), Darrell Issa (R-California) and Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-Texas).
In remarks on the occasion, Prince Turki highlighted the importance of Saudi-US dialogue on all levels.
“I believe that people-to-people relationships are the foundation for the diplomacy between our nations. And I am confident that our interactions have brought our countries closer together,” Prince Turki said.
“There are many issues in the world today that are of mutual importance to our countries. Maintaining an open dialogue and a clear understanding of one another is critical to our ongoing cooperation.”
