King Abdullah holds talks with German chancellor

German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived in the Kingdom today for a brief official visit. She was met at the airport by Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz and a number of princes and officials.

This evening, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz met with Merkel for talks. The meeting focused on regional issues, primarily Palestine and the situation in Iraq. Bilateral relations were also discussed.

Also in attendance at the Saudi-German talks were Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal; chief of General Intelligence Prince Muqrin bin Abdulaziz; Minister of State and Cabinet member Dr. Musaed Al-Aiban; the Saudi Ambassador to Germany, Osama Shobokshi; and Adel Al-Jubeir, Saudi Ambassador-designate to the United States.
