UN Secretary-General, Arab ambassadors praise Palestinian agreement

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon telephoned Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz today to congratulate him on the successful Palestinian reconciliation meeting in Makkah this week. The meeting, held at the invitation of King Abdullah, resulted in a power-sharing agreement between the Palestinian parties.

The Secretary-General said that he intended to follow up on the Makkah agreement.

Arab League ambassadors also unanimously praised the Palestinian agreement during an extraordinary Ministerial Council meeting in Cairo today.
