Saudi Aramco discovers new oil field in the Eastern Province

The national oil company Saudi Aramco has discovered a new oil field in the Eastern Province, the company announced on its website today.

The Dirwazah-1 well is located approximately 44 miles southeast of the Ghawar field and 174 miles south of Dhahran. Dirwazah-1 flowed 3,915 barrels per day of oil and 11.9 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, figures that are expected to rise under normal production.
