The Kingdom is hosting two important international medical conferences this month in the fields of radiology and gynecology.
The Third International Radiology Conference will begin in Jeddah April 9. More than 70 speakers from around the world are scheduled to participate in the four-day conference, and some 1,500 doctors, researchers, and medical experts are expected to attend. Sixty working papers are scheduled to be presented at the event in 16 sessions.
In addition, a medical exhibit will be organized on the fringes of the conference. As part of the exhibit, 30 local and international companies will display sophisticated medical equipment for diagnosis and treatment in radiology.
In related news, the fourth Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Gynecology Conference began in Jeddah yesterday. Director-General of Health Affairs in Makkah Dr. Samir Linjawi opened the conference on behalf of Makkah Governor Prince Abdulmajeed bin Abdulaziz.
Participants at the first session of the conference discussed issues including the impact of diabetes on pregnant women and causes of the high mortality rate among mothers in developing countries.
