The Secretary-General of the Riyadh-based Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Abdulrahman Al-Attiyah, today welcomed Iran’s decision to release the 15 British sailors and marines detained on March 23.

In a statement, Al-Attiyah said that dialogue and peaceful solutions to regional problems contribute to security and stability.

The secretary-general also urged the continuation of negotiation and dialogue to resolve the crisis over Iran’s nuclear program.
