New dental college to be established in the Kingdom

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah has approved the establishment of a new dental college, the Arab News reported today. The full-fledged college will be affiliated with the King Saud bin Abdulaziz University of Health Science, which is part of the King Abdulaziz Medical City (KAAMC) in Riyadh.

Assistant Deputy Commander of the National Guard Prince Miteb ibn Abdullah made the announcement in remarks at the First National Guard Dental Symposium and Workshop in Riyadh yesterday.

The new dental college will offer a state-of-the-art curriculum as well as advanced teaching and training methods, Prince Miteb said.

In related news, the Ministry of Education is currently implementing 47 projects in Makkah to improve girls’ education, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Akla, the director for girls’ education in Makkah, said. The projects, worth around $49 million, include the construction of new schools.
