The ten-stage, 18-hour surgery will take place April 21 at the National Guard’s King Abdulaziz Medical City, said Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabi’a, Executive Director of Health Affairs at the hospital and head of the surgical team that will operate on the twins.
In the past two decades, doctors at Saudi hospitals have performed 12 successful separation surgeries for conjoined twins from Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Malaysia, Egypt, the Philippines, Poland, Morocco, and Iraq.
