The Ninth Saudi-Japanese Joint Committee convened in Riyadh today. The event was co-chaired by Minister of Economy and Planning Khalid Al-Qusaibi and Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Akira Amari. During the meeting, the two countries reviewed economic cooperation and explored new business opportunities.

In remarks upon the occasion, Al-Qusaibi highlighted the strength of Saudi-Japanese economic cooperation, and noted that Japan is the Kingdom’s second-largest trading partner.

On April 28, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who paid a two-day official visit to Saudi Arabia.
