Alfaisal University announces new curriculum

Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the newly appointed Governor of Makkah Province, announced the research and academic programs for Alfaisal University in remarks at the King Faisal Foundation last night, the Arab News reported today.

The curriculum for the new university was designed in cooperation with the US-based Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Instruction at the university will be primarily in English, while Islamic studies will be taught in Arabic.

Alfaisal University will have four colleges: the College of Administration and Technology, the College of Sciences, the College of Engineering and the College of Medicine. The university will be located at the palace of the late King Faisal in the Mather district of Riyadh.

“Alfaisal University will be a renowned academic and research-oriented institution, the first of its kind in the Arab world, with its operational base in the Saudi capital city,” Prince Khalid said, as quoted in the Arab News.

The university is a non-profit private educational institution seeking to provide a quality education to Saudi and non-Saudi students, while offering individual training and research programs.
