Chairman of the Saudi Red Crescent Society Prince Faisal Abdullah bin Abdulaziz said preparations have been completed to deal with any emergency that may be caused by tropical cyclone Gonu.  Citizens were assured that Gonu will not have a direct impact on Saudi Arabia.

Director General of the National Center for Meterology Dr. Saad Al-Mihlafi reports that Gonu is expected to hit the northeastern parts of the Gulf of Oman and then move south towards the Iranian coasts by Thursday evening.

Dr. Al-Mihlafi expects that winds will have a minor effect on the weather, and that the people in the Kingdom can expect high clouds and a dusty surface with winds gusting to 40 KM/H.
