King Abdullah renews terms for senior officials, makes new appointments

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has extended the terms of service for a number of high-ranking officials and made several new appointments.

A Royal Decree issued today extended the term of Dr. Fahd Al-Abduljabbar as Adviser to the King and General Supervisor for Royal Clinics at the rank of minister, retroactively effective June 19, 2007.

Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Tuwaijri will remain as Secretary-General of the Supreme Economic Council, at premium rank, effective June 17, 2007. The King also reappointed the existing members of the Consultative Commission for Economic Affairs at the Supreme Economic Council for two more years, effective June 29, 2007.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabi’a will continue as Executive Director General for Health Affairs at the National Guard at the premium rank, effective June 19, 2007.

Newly appointed officials include Dr. Muhammad Al-Sowayel as President of the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology at the rank of minister, and Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Hugail as General President of the General Corporation for Railways at the premium rank.
