The National Society for Human Rights (NSHR) is planning to launch a series of televised public service announcements, the Arab News announced today. The 40-second spots are intended to educate the Saudi public about various human rights issues.

NSHR President Bandar Al-Hajjar told the Arab News that five or six announcements are planned, each one addressing a different human rights issue. The organization is in the process of negotiating with production companies to produce the spots, he said.

Al-Hajjar said that the NSHR is also planning a television program that will focus on people explaining how the organization helped them launch and win grievances against government departments.

It has not yet been decided which networks will air the announcements and the program, he added.
