Fire at Aramco’s Ras Tanura facility quickly contained; operations unaffected

A fire broke out at Saudi Aramco’s Ras Tanura North Terminal on the morning of July 19 and was quickly contained by the company’s emergency services, Aramco said in a statement today. Aramco’s crude oil and product operations were not affected at any time.

Four contract workers were killed in the fire. Eleven other contractors and one Aramco employee were injured in the blaze.

An investigation is currently underway into the cause of the fire, the company said.
