Second Saudi relief plane dispatched to flood-hit Sudan

Saudi Arabia today dispatched a second cargo plane with relief supplies to Sudan to provide urgent aid to victims of heavy rains and flooding. The plane carried over 75 tons of foodstuffs, tents and blankets.  The first Saudi relief plane arrived in Sudan August 24.

The airlift is part of a Saudi aid package to Sudan that was announced last week. The package also includes a $20 million grant to meet victims’ immediate needs.
