Saudi Arabia has condemned the December 11 suicide bombings the Algerian capital of Algiers that killed at least 31. In a statement issued today, the Kingdom denounced the bombings as criminal acts that contradict the principles of Islam and human values.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz telephoned Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika yesterday to offer his condolences on the deadly bombings. In the conversation, King Abdullah told President Bouteflika that such abhorrent acts would only increase the determination of the Algerian government and people to root out terrorism from its soil.
