King Abdullah meets with Palestinian president

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the royal palace in Jeddah today.

The two leaders discussed the need to resolve internal differences and achieve Palestinian unity in order to realize the Palestinian people’s demand for freedom and dignity in their homeland. Moreover, they reviewed efforts to restart the stalled Middle East peace process and stressed that the ultimate goal is a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, within the framework of international law and the Arab Peace Initiative.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal and the Palestinian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Jamal Al-Shobaki.
