Saudi Arabia requests ministerial meeting on Lebanon, peace process

Saudi Arabia has requested an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Arab Foreign Ministers, Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa said today.

The meeting will address the situation in Lebanon, which announced December 28 that it would postpone holding presidential elections until January 12. The foreign ministers will also discuss the Middle East peace process and the situation in Palestine.

The meeting will be held January 6 in Cairo, Moussa said in his statement.
