Plans are underway for a 25-year, strategic, wide-ranging reform of Saudi Arabia’s higher education system, the Ministry of Higher Education announced today.

The Ministry has asked the Research Institute of the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals to present a detailed study of the plan, according to Dr Mohammed Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, who heads the project management team in charge of the study.

After the completion of the study, which is expected to take two years, the recommendations will be compiled and a 25-year plan for reforming Saudi higher education will be drawn up, Al-Ohali said.
