Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal issued a statement today following a meeting of Arab foreign ministers in Cairo.

Prince Saud said that participants were briefed on Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa’s recent visit to Lebanon, and noted that a basis of agreement is beginning to form among the various parties. The ministers are now awaiting the Lebanese response to the Secretary-General’s ideas to end the confrontation which harms everyone.

On Iraq, Prince Saud said that the ministers voiced support for the Iraqi government in its effort to forge a national alliance and hold a national reconciliation conference. He added that a reconciliation conference would be held in Iraq within four months.
