King Abdullah visits Iraqi conjoined twins

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz visited the Iraqi conjoined twins Fatima and Zahra today at the National Guard’s King Abdulaziz Medical City. The girls were separated on Sunday by a team of 30 doctors in an 18-hour surgery.

The King was welcomed by Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, chief executive officer of the National Guard Health Affairs and chief surgeon at King Abdulaziz Medical City.

Doctors briefed King Abdullah on the girls’ situation, which remains stable. The King congratulated the girls’ parents on the success of the surgery, and wished the twins a speedy recovery. He also witnessed them drink water for the first time since the surgery.
