The Interior Ministry today issued a statement in response to media reports that a Saudi citizen was arrested in Iraq and that he confessed to participating in the February 24 attack on the Abqaiq oil facility.

The Ministry said that Abdulrahman Musleh Al-Harbi, 40, has a history of mental illness and that he is not wanted by Saudi authorities.

Via Interpol, the Kingdom informed Iraqi authorities of Al-Harbi’s medical issues and requested that he receive appropriate medical care, the statement said. 

The Ministry also called for Al-Harbi to be extradited to the Kingdom.
