In remarks at the preparatory meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal – who is heading the Saudi delegation – focused on GCC and Arab issues. He stressed concern for Iraq’s security, unity and stability, and called on the Lebanese people to work for unity, security and stability in their country.
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has directed that the summit is to be named the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. Participants are expected to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in various fields, including economic, political, security, social and education.
