Britain’s Prince Charles on official visit to the Kingdom

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah met with Britain’s Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh today.

Prince Charles and the Duchess are in the Kingdom for a two-day official visit. They arrived in Riyadh last night, and were greeted at the airport by Secretary-General of the National Security Council Prince Bandar bin Sultan.

On a visit to Iman Muhammad bin Saud University in Riyadh today, Prince Charles called for restoring mutual respect among religions, and seeking to dispel mistrust among them. “We must work together to make a world where understanding prevails for our generations and our grandchildren,” he said.

The director of the university, Dr Muhammad Al-Salim, said that Saudi Arabia calls for global peace, tolerance and coexistence.

Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz hosted a luncheon for Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall today. In the evening, Prince Sultan bin Salman, Secretary-General of the Supreme Tourism Commission, held a banquet in their honor, after which a symposium on architectural heritage took place.
