Adel Al-Jubeir awarded honorary doctorate, UNT distinguished alumnus award

Adel Al-Jubeir, Adviser to the Royal Court, was awarded an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from the University of North Texas.  On Friday, he was awarded an UNT Distinguished Alumnus award.  Al-Jubeir graduated summa cum laude with a double major, political science and economics, from UNT in 1984.

According to UNT President Norval Pohl, UNT was honor Al-Jubeir for his accomplishments in relation to international diplomacy, the war on terrorism and issues of peace and security in the greater Middle East.

The Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award is given to a University of North Texas graduate “who achieved distinction in his or her profession and had made significant contributions to society, therefore bringing credit to UNT.”

During his visit to UNT, Al-Jubeir toured the university and met with professors and Saudi Arabian students at UNT.
