Saudi detainees at Guantanamo returned to the Kingdom; names given

Minister of Interior Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz said that 15 Saudi detainees at Guantanamo Bay arrived in Saudi Arabia today. The families have been informed, and plans are underway for them to meet with the detainees, he said.

Prince Nayef expressed appreciation to US authorities for their cooperation in facilitating the detainees’ return, and noted that efforts remain ongoing to return the remaining Saudi detainees at Guantanamo to the Kingdom.

Ministry of Interior spokesman Maj. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki announced the names of the 15 detainees. They are:

Saad Farhan Khatem Al-Malki; Khalid Abdullah Abdulrahman Al-Morqi; Ibrahim Dhaifullah Nuaiman Al-Sahli; Khalid Rashid Ali Al-Mari; Adel Oklah Hassan Al-Nusseiri Al-Ruwaili; Saud Bazghan Ishiq Al-Shaibani Al-Otaibi; Abdulhadi bin Mohammed Baden Al-Subaie’; Mohammed bin Jaied Hadi Al-Subaie'; Fahd Salih Sulaiman Al-Jatili; Abdullah Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Rashidan; Abdulrahman Othman Ahmed Al-Ghamdi; Abdullah Hamid Mohammed Al-Qahtani; Nawaf bin Fahd Homoud Al-Otaibi; Rashid Awad Rashid Al-Oweidhah; and Adnan Mohammed Ali Al-Saigh.
