Riyadh Governor launches program to help poor mothers

Governor of Riyadh Province Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz launched an SR 50 million endowment program to help poor mothers, the Arab News reported today. Begun by Al-Nahda Charitable Women’s Society, the project is intended to support nearly 2,000 needy women, according to Princess Sarah Al-Faisal, chairperson of the society.

Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz donated SR 10 million [$2.7 million] to the program, while Prince Salman donated SR 3 million [$800,085] – one million each on behalf of his mother, himself and his sons.

Founded 45 years ago, Al-Nahda Charitable Women’s Society aims to promote social development in the Kingdom.
