Female Saudi cardiosurgeon awarded prestigious medal

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has awarded the King Faisal Medal, fourth class, to a female Saudi doctor for her work as a cardiosurgeon. Dr Huwaida Obeid Al-Githami is the acting head of cardiac surgery at the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center. She is considered among the world’s leading cardiosurgeons, and specializes in surgeries for children. She received her medal in a special ceremony in Riyadh yesterday.
