Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz met with the director-general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Koichiro Matsuura, in Paris today. After the meeting, Crown Prince Sultan announced a donation of $1 million to UNESCO.

As part of his three-day official visit to France, Crown Prince Sultan also met with French Defense Minister Michele Alliot-Marie today for talks on the situation in the Middle East, particularly Lebanon, Iraq and Palestine. They also discussed bilateral issues.
