Saudi Arabia and France issued a joint communiqué today, the last day of Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz’s three-day official visit.
In the communiqué, the two nations condemned the violence in Lebanon and the Palestinian territories that has targeted civilians and infrastructure in a flagrant violation of international laws. They called for an immediate cease-fire and a revival of peace plans such as the Arab Peace Initiative and the Road Map for Peace.
On Iraq, Saudi Arabia and France stressed the importance of exerting efforts to ensure the stability and unity of the country and non-interference in Iraqi affairs by other nations.
The two nations condemned all forms of terrorism, and highlighted the importance of international cooperation as well as the role of the United Nations in combating terrorism.
