The first of six Saudi relief convoys arrived in Lebanon today. The 44 trucks in the convoy carried 40,000 food baskets for the needy. Also today, a Saudi cargo plane arrived in Beirut carrying 12 tons of medical supplies and foodstuffs donated by the Saudi Red Crescent.

In addition, the Saudi Popular Campaign for the Relief of the Lebanese People signed an agreement of cooperation with UNICEF to provide medical, educational and development aid worth $2.23 million for Lebanese schoolchildren. This aid includes vaccines, food and school supplies.

The relief aid is in line with the Kingdom’s ongoing humanitarian assistance to the people of Lebanon.
