Foreign minister holds meetings on the fringes of UN meeting

Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Saud Al-Faisal, who is currently in New York for the 61st Session of the UN General Assembly, has participated in a number of high-level meetings on the fringes of the session.

Yesterday, he attended a joint meeting of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) foreign ministers, the European Tripartite Group and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. He also participated in a meeting of GCC foreign ministers, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the European Tripartite Group.

The meetings focused on Middle East peace efforts, international cooperation, global and regional developments as well as the UN General Assembly agenda.

In addition, Prince Saud has met with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing and French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy.

Saudi Ambassador to the United States Prince Turki Al-Faisal also attended the meetings.
