Saudi Arabia is not supporting Al-Qaeda terrorist head Osama bin Laden or his organization, the Arab News reported today
Minister of Interior Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz made the remarks at a meeting of senior officials of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Riyadh last night.
“How can the government of Saudi Arabia support an organization that targets and kills its own people?” he said, as quoted by the Arab News.
Prince Nayef also urged Saudi religious scholars to speak out against extremists and deviants, and to guide the next generation onto the right track. He stressed the role of universities and media outlets in educating the Saudi youth and raising their awareness.
