Crown Prince Sultan comments on peace process, support for Lebanon

Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz has highlighted Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz’s efforts to support Lebanon.

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, has been doing its best to serve the interests of Lebanon in a manner that does not contradict with the interests of any other Arab country,” Crown Prince Sultan said after chairing a meeting of the Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Charitable Foundation Board of Trustees last night.

On Iraq, the Crown Prince expressed the hope that Iraqis would close ranks and unify in order to resolve the problems facing their country.

Turning to the Middle East peace process, Crown Prince Sultan said that the Arab Peace Initiative proposed by King Abdullah is the best means for resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. He also urged the Palestinians to seek unity.

On other issues, Crown Prince Sultan denied recent reports of a meeting between Saudi and Israeli officials. He also noted that the Saudi educational curriculum is under study, and that changes will conform to the Kingdom’s beliefs.
