Pilgrims move into Mina today

Pilgrims began moving into Mina today, marking the formal beginning of the Hajj rituals for this year. Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims progressed smoothly without any major difficulty.

As of yesterday, 1,638,837 pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj.

The pilgrims will camp in Mina today before leaving for the plains of Arafat tomorrow. Saudi authorities have ensured that all the required services are available for the pilgrims at the holy sites, including health care, fresh water and communications services.
