The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Al-Naimi today announced the discovery by of a new gas field in the Eastern Province.  The national oil company Saudi Aramco located the gas filed Nijaiman-1 some 30 kilometers south of Al-Ghawar oil field and 280 kilometers southeast of Riyadh.  Nijaiman-1 is expected to yield 60 million cubic feet per day of gas.
