The Kingdom’s Grand Mufti Shaikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-AsShaikh, who also chairs the Senior Commission of ulema (religious scholars) and heads the administration for religious research, said today that he hopes the upcoming OIC summit will be for the benefit, interest and glory of both Islam and Muslims.

The Grand Mufti stated that the Islamic nation now needs unity, cooperation and adherence to Islam, which is the sole guarantee of glory and security in Muslim countries.

He added that the summit’s location in the holy city of Makkah doubles the responsibility of Muslim leaders to work towards progress, glory and pride of religion for the Islamic nation.
