Saudi Arabia triples assistance to tsunami victims to $30 million

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is tripling its emergency relief assistance to the victims of the tsunami in the Indian Ocean region to U.S. $30 million following an assessment of the tragedy.  The Kingdom’s assistance will be coordinated with United Nations humanitarian agencies to ensure speedy and effective delivery of the relief aid to the victims.  The Kingdom will continue to monitor the situation closely. On Sunday, the Saudi-based Islamic Development Bank earmarked U.S. $10 million for relief efforts.
