Shura Council praises outcome of the OIC summit

The Shura Council commended the outcome of last week’s third extraordinary Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) summit in a session chaired by Dr Saleh bin Homaid.

In a statement, the Council praised the speech delivered by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz at the beginning of the summit, noting that the King’s speech embodied Saudi Arabia’s leading role in promoting Muslim solidarity. The statement also praised the speech for providing a clear vision on dealing with the problems of extremism and spreading tolerance and moderation.

The Council also discussed other items on its agenda, including a draft project to import chemical materials and a draft agreement on international railways in the Arab Orient.
