Malaysian PM announces Makkah OIC Summit in November

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz received in Riyadh yesterday Prime Minister of Malaysia Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who also met with Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. Prime Minister Badawi announced today that during his meeting with Crown Prince Abdullah, it was agreed to schedule for Makkah in November of this year an extraordinary Summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to discuss problems facing Muslims worldwide. It was also agreed to set up a committee of Muslim scholars to identify these problems. Prime Minister Badawi, who is OIC’s current chairman, was in the Kingdom to attend the Sixth Annual Jeddah Economic Forum.
