Interior Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz briefed the Cabinet on the eighth meeting of the Saudi-Yemeni committee on implementation of the treaty on the international border between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Yemen, which took place yesterday in Sanaa.
The Cabinet was also briefed on the recent meeting in Riyadh of ministers of higher education and scientific research in member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which approved the mechanisms proposed by the King Abdulaziz University workshop concerning activation of the document submitted by Crown Prince Abdullah at the 23rd GCC Summit in Doha, Qatar on December 21-22 of 2002, and which the 24th Summit in Kuwait stressed the importance of taking a decision on.
Turning to items on its agenda, the Cabinet passed a number of resolutions, including authorization for the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the King Abdulaziz Center for Archives and Research or his deputy to discuss a memorandum of cooperation with the National Archives House of the Republic of Sudan; authorization for the Minister of Higher Education or his deputy to draft an agreement on science and education with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic; ratification of the draft agreement with the Republic of Byelorussia; and ratification of the draft agreement with the Republic of Algeria to set up a joint Saudi-Algerian investment company.
