GCC Ministerial Council to meet Saturday in Abu Dhabi

The Gulf Cooperation Council-affiliated Ministerial Council will meet in Abu Dhabi on December 17 to prepare for the upcoming 26th GCC summit.

GCC Secretary-General Abdulrahman Al-Attiyah said that a number of issues would be discussed at the meeting, including the environmental, social, economic, education and health issues. The ministers will also consider the recommendations of the GCC labor ministers on measures to prevent an avian flu epidemic.

Al-Attiyah added that the Ministerial Council would also discuss current political developments in Iraq, Israel-Palestine, the Syrian-Lebanese issue and the Iranian occupation of three UAE islands in light of the GCC’s well-established position on that matter.
