Royal orders were issued today amending Article (3) of the regulations of the Consultative Council (Majlis Al-Shura) expanding its membership to 150 in addition to the Chairman, for a period of four hijrah years starting from the end of the term of the current Council. Dr. Salih bin Abdullah bin Homaid will continue as Chairman of the expanded Council, with Mahmoud bin Abdullah Taibah as Deputy Chairman and Dr. Salih bin Saud Al-Ali as Assistant Chairman. Dr. Salih bin Abdullah bin Mansour Al-Malik has been appointed as Secretary-General of the Council, at excellent rank.

Royal orders were also issued today covering appointments and extension of services of a number of government officials, including the Governors of the Provinces of Riyadh, Baha, Asir, Qasim, Tabuk, Northern Borders, and the Eastern Province, for a period of four hijrah years effective 3/3/1426, corresponding to April 12, 2005.
