Saudi Aramco locates new light crude oilfield in central region

Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Al-Naimi announced today the discovery by Saudi Aramco of a new oilfield for light Arab crude, located in the central region of the Kingdom, about 75 miles southeast of the city of Riyadh. The new well is expected to produce 3,300 barrels per day of a crude that is free of sulfur and with a density of 41 degrees according to the measurement of the American Petroleum Institute. Three million cubic feet a day of natural gas is associated with the oil well.
