After presiding over a meeting on Sunday to discuss the plan, Prince Salman called on government agencies and the private sector to cooperate so that the plan can be implemented. He characterized tourism as one of the most important industries for supporting the economy and providing jobs.
Also attending the meeting was Secretary-General of the Supreme Commission for Tourism Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, who remarked that the Eighth Development Plan describes tourism as one of the most important means of comprehensive development in the Kingdom. He stressed that 2006 would be a year of implementing projects.
