Saudi banks to hold GCC banking conference in Riyadh

The Saudi banks, in cooperation with the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), will host on May 17 and 18 the seventh banking conference of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Attending the event, whose topic is ‘A New Vision for the GCC Financial Services Industry’, will be senior bankers from the region and from international financial institutions as well as the governors of the central banks and monetary agencies of the six GCC countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. The four sessions will discuss future challenges for GCC capital markets; the GCC economy; the impact of Basel-II on the banking industry; and the impact on financial institutions of the GCC monetary union.
